I've been looking high and low for a protein bar with relatively low carbs to keep blood sugar low and not have high blood sugar spikes when I finally came across Atlas Protein Bars. Sugar alcohols don't agree with me so much and I know there are new studies on how artificial sweeteners such as sucralose, aspartame, and saccharin can actually eventually cause insulin resistance or other issues. I saw stevia and monk fruit on the ingredients list for Atlas and felt hopeful so I ordered the Peanut Butter and Dark Chocolate Almond.

I took one bite and was pleasantly surprised! Although the Peanut Butter was very good, I thought I was eating a giant Tootsie Roll with the Dark Chocolate Almond -- I'm a chocolate fan. I love the chewy texture, not overly sweet, and it didn't have that strange minute quasi-chemical smell or taste I get from a lot of other brands. It kept me satiated and I was able to have enough energy for a 1.5 hr weight training session. I am happy to have come across Atlas and look forward to being a customer and to recommend this to other friends, as well as other people watching their sugar or diabetics.
