1. Wiser Every Day

Nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature four times and the Nobel Peace Prize three times, Leo Tolstoy is regarded as one of the greatest writers of all time. Though he's best known for novels like War and Peace, his favorite work was a book titled A Calendar of Wisdom. With one page for each day of the year, it's intended to be a daily read on how to live a wiser, more joyful, and more loving life. It's become part of my morning routine and always helps start the day on a positive note.

2. Zero

Though I tried fasting in the past, I've never made it part of my routine. After refreshing my memory on fasting's many benefits, I decided to give it another shot. I honestly expected it to be a short-term experiment that wouldn't fit my lifestyle but have enjoyed it so much that I plan to make it a long-term habit. Not eating until noon each day has noticeably increased my mental clarity and focus in the morning. Despite exercising first thing, I rarely feel hungry and have noticed no decrease in performance. Zero's an awesome app that I've used to track every fast and to educate myself more about fasting.

3. $5 Super Smoothie

This is my first post-fast meal of the day, every day. Takes 2 minutes to make, uses 5 ingredients, costs $5, packs over 50 grams of protein, and tastes unbelievable. The five ingredients are 2 scoops of Ascent vanilla protein powder, 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, a handful of baby spinach, 1 cup of frozen berries, and either 1/2 banana or 1/4 avocado depending on what I have.
